DynaWizard 2.10 Updates and Patches =================================== This file contains information about an updated component for DynaWizard 2.10. Updated components contain fixes for issues which have been reported by customers or discovered during testing. Unless otherwise stated the updated component should be considered stable and should be used in place of the component that was provided in the DynaWizard 2.10 release package. Component ========= DynaWizard Image Manager - Version 2.12.16 - Release Date 17/4/2006 Changes ======= Following are the list of changes made to this component since the release version. 2.12.16 - Addition of a new feature in Hardware Configuration manager to allow viewing the hardware device information of the local computer and the hardware differences between the local computer and the selected hardware configuration. This is part of a larger effort to eliminate some of the additional work required to manage minor hardware inconsistencies between machines. To access the new feature go to Tools, Hardware Confuguration Manager and select the desired hardware configuration item. Expand the item and select the Devices icon, in the right hand window you will now see three tabs which correspond to Image Devices, Local Devices and Device Differences. Addition of code to correctly handle multiple user profiles apart from the current user profile when importing changes to an image. Previously only the NTUSER.DAT file in the current and predefined user profiles (such as Default User, Administrator, Network Service etc) would be automatically excluded when importing changes to an image, with this update all user profiles will have the NTUSER.DAT and associated files excluded when importing. Please note, the NTUSER.DAT file for all profiles contained within the image is supplied from the HKEY_CURRENT_USER item of the Hardware Configuration during the rebuild process. Correction of an error in the definition of the automatic exclusion of the Windows prefetch directory (normally C:\WINDOWS\Prefetch) when importing changes to an image. This error allowed files in the prefetch directory to be imported into an image when normally they would not be. The contents of the prefetch directory are completely dynamic and do not need to be included in the DynaWizard image. 2.12.08 - Correction of a particular case when scanning for and removing deleted folders in Import Changes Wizard which resulting in incorrect parts handling where files were in less parts than the folders which contained them. This problem caused no visible effect to the image and only resulted in files being removed instead of sent to the Deleted Files bin. 2.12.04 - Addition of code to detect and correct an issue with one or more invalid entries being found while opening an image. This resulted in Image Manager being unable to open an image that was previously working correctly with DynaWizard 2.0, the error message returned was normally reported as "Request Failed (00000015)". Investigation of several reports of this problem showed that the invalid entries were not part of the files contained within the image but were merely blank entries that had been appended to the end of the FILEMAP.DWI file. The exact cause of this problem is still being investigated. After installing this update, you should be prompted when opening your image(s) for the first time that one or more invalid entries were found. After checking that the image appears to be correct, saving the image will permanently remove the invalid entries. Installation ============ To install this update do the following: - Unzip the downloaded file to a temporary directory. - Copy the file DWIMG32.EXE contained in this update to your DynaWizard 2.10 installation.
