NTFS On Track
Development continues to progress on providing full support for NTFS when using DynaWizard. As of April 2006 our NTFS driver can reliably read files and data from all current versions and, while still at an early stage in development, the performance of the driver is well on track to exceed even the FAT driver which is available in the current release version.
As yet we have not set a firm date when full NTFS support will be available in DynaWizard but we expect to be able to offer a much clearer timeframe in the next few months and will keep you informed of our progress.
Ready for Windows Vista
Of course the question on everyones lips at the moment is Windows Vista (formerly known as Longhorn) and not only when it will be available but when products like DynaWizard will include support for it. We have done some initial testing and evaluation of the changes based on the beta 1 release that has been out for several months now and while the look and feel of Vista has undergone a significant makeover from Windows XP, the underlying core doesn't appear to have changed too dramatically. Based on this we expect that adding support for Vista will require only a moderate amount of additional work and we are hopeful of having full support included in Dynawizard within about three months of the official release. As always this will depend on when the final release of Vista occurs and what is or is not included at that time.
